Accident is common in the busy city of Karachi, and all over the metropolitan cities around the world, like, london, new york. texas, berlin and others. News papers, Radios and Televisions daily give such pathetic information. The reasons of such accidents are well known to the government authorities than that of the public, but no drastic actions are taken by the government or law made by the parliament to avoid or decrease such irresponsible accidents.
However, last Monday, I was going to Tower on a bus. The bus was overloaded and passengers were hanging on the handles. The bus was running very fast and was trying to overtake another bus of the same route. When the bus reached near Numaish, it suddenly stopped and many passengers, who were specially standing, felled one upon another. The condition of women and children was very pitiable. Two women, who were sitting on front seat, were badly injured and pieces of wind glass injured their bodies. When the bus was stopped, a horrible sound was heard. A huge rush was encircled the bus. I got down and saw that a car was totally smashed by the collusion of the bus and the man in the car was totally smashed by the collusion of the bus and the man in the car was sensless. In the meantime, a police van reached on the spot, but the driver and conductor had fled away. All the passengers got down from the bus and the injured ladies were carried to the civil hospital. The man in the car was seriously injured. He was also carried by an ambulance to the hospital and the bus and car was taken in the custody of police.
